Jeff has practiced at Sonkin • Koberna since 1992.

In addition to being a general practitioner, Jeff manages the firm’s workers’ compensation practice. Jeff has extensive experience in all aspects of the administrative and court proceedings associated with this area of the law and represents employers as well as injured workers. Jeff also has significant experience handling cases involving consumer protection legislation (e.g., Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act, Home Solicitation Sales Act) representing both consumers and suppliers. Additionally, Jeff represents commercial and residential landlords throughout Northeast Ohio and has represented many of the firm’s commercial clients in connection with eviction and lease forfeiture actions, tenant issues and disputes. Jeff has been a speaker on the topic of “The 19 Deadly Sins of the Eviction Process.” Among Jeff’s client base are several Fortune 500 firms and numerous auto dealerships.

  • Obtained a workers’ compensation settlement totaling $450,000 for an employee crushed by a machine at work
  • Awarded $93,875 for a worker who lost his hearing due to injuries sustained in an explosion at work
  • Settled a motorcycle accident for $76,000 in which the plaintiff required surgery after sustaining injuries to his shoulder
  • Successfully obtained possession in an eviction action for a national developer brought against a commercial restaurant tenant
  • Settled a workers’ compensation claim for $74,500 in which an employee suffered multiple injuries to his back and shoulder when his truck turned over
  • Settled a workers compensation claim for $60,000 in which an employee fell down the stairs at work causing injury to his lower back
  • Successfully obtained possession in eviction action against automobile dealership
